I just upgraded from a old legacy Sun server running an older build of BIND to
RHEL 5.2 running 9.3.4-P1 and am having a problem with one PTR zone. It seems
our ISP didn't delegate the zone to us, they are using CNAME referrals. The
way it looks like the ISP has setup it is that if you look up
74.67.107.XXX.in-addr.arpa you get a CNAME referral to
74.64/26.67.107.XXX.in-addr.arpa that points to my server.
The syntax for this zone on the old server was;
zone "64/25.67.107.XXX.in-addr.arpa." {
which seemed to work.
The version of BIND I am using right now will not accept that syntax and I
can't figure out an alternative. Has anyone else run into this before or have
any suggestions?
