Since the original question was about performance, I should note that even
if some of us had done performance comparisons, we probably couldn't publish
them anyway.  If you read the VMWare ESX Eula, which is at
http://www.vmware.com/download/eula/esx_server.html, it says "*You may use
the Software to conduct internal performance testing and benchmarking
studies, the results of which you (and not unauthorized third parties) may
publish or publicly disseminate; provided that VMware has reviewed and
approved of the methodology, assumptions and other parameters of the study.*
"

That in mind, a more useful discussion may be what performance tests should
you run to compare performance?  And what tools are you using?
