What's the difference between a Virtualization Entitlement, and a
Virtualization Platform Entitlement?

I have three Update Base Entitlements assigned to 3 physical servers.

Each of them has a Virtualization Entitlement assigned to it.

I have 2 available (2 total) Virtualization Platform Entitlements. So far I
have not been able to assign any of the Virtual Platform Entitlements to
anything.

I have not yet succeeded in registering a VM.

when I try: rhn-register --nox

it asks for:

  | Installation Number: ________________________________________
|
  | Example: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
|

So far all I have come up with is a 16 character hex string.
If I add dashes its still too short and doesn't work.

I did try the 16 character hex string as an argument to a key command in the
kickstart for creating the VM that I am trying to register using the
"rhn-register --nox" and that appeared to work.

Have created the VM and successfully run a kickstart

but when I: yum update

it chokes with:

# yum update
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Loading "rhnplugin" plugin
This system is not registered with RHN.
RHN support will be disabled.
Setting up Update Process
Setting up repositories
No Repositories Available to Set Up
Reading repository metadata in from local files
No Packages marked for Update/Obsoletion

Is there a good overview document on how all this works?
