Is the installation key somehow tied to RHN entitlements? Or is it

I believe the installation key is only used to unlock channels at install
time. A case in point is Academic Entitlements to RHEL Workstation, which
AFAIK all use the same installation key (across every Academic
Institution).
Can I just use _one_ of the install keys for all servers (we're
kickstarting) or do I literally have to track how many installs I do
with each installation key? The "RH Installation Number FAQ" seems to
say the former is the case (one to many).....
From a *technical* perspective, the former is correct. After installation
the number of machines with access to a channel is controlled by your
entitlements and the installation key is essentially redundant. I don't
know what the Red Hat licencing/support answer to that is, but I suspect
they won't care.
Is this key information stored anywhere on the system such that it can
be altered?
/etc/sysconfig/rhn/install-num
My customer isn't using Virtualization - am I likely better off just
skipping the installation number in the KS, or am I just putting off
entering it until I go to register the box with RHN?
I've never seen it asked for in rhn_register, but rhnreg_ks does
definitely ask for --subscription. I don't see any real problem with using
a single key in the kickstart, but then picking one of multiple keys in
your %post to register with.
