Howdy,
I have a NFS mounted /home filesystem and I notice the new RHEL5.3 filesystem
RPM will bomb out on install. Yum doesn't notice this error and will say all
things finished okey-dokey! :)
# yum -y update
Updating : filesystem [1/2]
Error unpacking rpm package filesystem-2.4.0-2.i386
error: unpacking of archive failed on file /home: cpio: chown
Updated: filesystem.i386 0:2.4.0-2
Complete!
So yum thinks the updated succeeded and relays that information to RHN.
RHN then displays the errata as successfully applied, while it actually is
not.
I filed a filesystem bug on this:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=483071
Wonder why yum doesn't see that the package install failed...
