Likewise I haven't been able to get colour working. We have had
Imagerunner 3300 (I think they were) printers, and now we have
IRC2880i's. Generally I have used the printers via jetdirect and
configured as PCL5e (basically because the only imagerunner driver
offered before was for something like a 330 and that didn't work well
but PCL5e did - it did duplexing).

Unfortunately my work PC is on FC8 while my home PC is on F10, and the
printer is on the work PC. Ironically I now see that here is an IR3300
driver (in foomatic) in F10, and an IR2800. However, with FC8 I only
have access to drivers like the IR2270 and IRC3200. I have tried using
these drivers, but, as with you, they don't print in colour.

I'll play a little more when I get back in work tomorrow. It may be that
I can rebuild foomatic from F10 on my FC8 system, or just copy the
relevant Image-runner files across.

In your case I notice that the C5185i driver under F10 uses the pxlcolor
driver, but under FC8 it seems to use the mono driver. On our RHEL5
system there are no such drivers (for IR), but just the IR330s driver.
So what O/S are you using?
