Hello,
        I would not recommend this because there are some
machine-specific configuration options in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp
        Unless the config files are the same on all machines, it is not
a good idea to do this.

How about:
mv /etc/xen /somewhere/on/gfs/partition
ln -s /somewhere/on/gfs/partition/ /etc/xen
