Hello,
We usually create a separate image file for the data FS if it is
big (80 GB or more). It can make maintenance / restore from backup
easier but there are no problems with large files so if you want, you
may create one big file for the DomU with everything.
I create a ~70GB file by default for OS, applications and data
and if somoeone needs more for data, I simply create another file (e.g.
100 GB) and attach it to the DomU as another virtual disk.

Regards,
        Daniel

Subject: [rhelv5-list] DomU with 1 big img file or multiple medium ones

Hello,

What is the best practice regarding img size ? I it better to have 1 big
200 GB img file or 1 for the OS, and several other for the data ?
The domU will be install on a GFS2 partition Regards,
