Make sure that the system is connected to Internet and especially name
resolution (DNS) is working fine on it.

Subject: [rhelv5-list] rhn_register - registration problem

Hi,

System Information: DELL, X86_64, RHEL version 5.2. The network on this system
seems working fine.

However, I could not register my system on to the rhn server to update the
files.

When I run the command "rhn_register" or "system updater" through system
applications tools, I always get the error message as

"We could not contact Red Hat
  Network (xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com).
Make sure the network connection on this system...."

The error message in the "/var/log/update" is appeared as

[Mon Sep 14 09:51:52 2009] rhn_register A socket error occurred: (-3,
'Temporary failure in name resolution'), attempt #1

Any help to resolve this issue ... Thanks in advance.
