Hi all,

I have installed a rhel5.4 x86_64 kvm host. I have installed a rhel4.8 guest (kernel 2.6.9-89.0.11.EL), all seems to works ok except by this message:

warning: many lost ticks. Your time source seems to be instable or some driver is hogging interupts rip default_idle+0x20/0x23

 Timer used on this guest:

time.c: Using 3.579545 MHz PM timer.
time.c: Detected 2194.567 MHz processor.
time.c: Using PIT/TSC based timekeeping.
Calibrating delay using timer specific routine.. 4404.28 BogoMIPS (lpj=2202141)
Using local APIC timer interrupts.
Detected 62.504 MHz APIC timer.

Do I need to pass some kernel param on grub.conf (like in vmware is notsc divider=10) to this guest??

 Many thanks.

I think I found a possible solution: I have inserted "divider=10 notsc" in grub.conf and this warnings disappears. Can someone confirm that this is the right solution??

Thanks.
