Assuming the BIOS mapping is correct, so the disk/slice is aligned.
If one disk fails, then the other disk needs to map the exact same.

P.S.  This is where Fake RAID (FRAID) level 1 and the DeviceMapper RAID
(dmraid) solution actually fails over mo'better.  Of course, I don't
advocate using dmraid for much other than /boot.  ;)
