You are partially correct. However, for the application to find the .so
file more is needed. After inserting a new path to /etc/ld.so.conf or
adding more .so files to existing directories, you need to run the
ldconfig command. This creates a cache for the linker. Without this
step, the application may fail to find the required .so file.
