The AMD Magny-Cours (6000-series) processor in the G7 series from HP requires an updated kernel that was introduced in RHEL5.5.

However, there was an errata kernel that provides minimal support (though not recommended) in the 5.4 z-stream.

You should definitely run 5.5 or above to get decent performance out of G7's.

Hi ,

Can you please confirm that ProLiant BL460c G7 is supportive to

rhel5.4 86_64 bit OS ?

When I am trying to install the above version , having issues. HP
vendor ( not any technical engineer) is telling that it is suppotive
from rhel5.5 onwards. But it is little bit surpriing that the
hardware does not support rhel5.4 ?

Please confirm. and if it does support then please let me know what
are the aspects are needed to be checked to install the OS.

Thanks again
