Not sure if you've looked through the Red Hat docs on this:
http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/5/html/Deployment_Guide/s2-networkscripts-interfaces-chan.html
I only mention this because I happen to be working on some bonding
configs right now and it's come in handy.
I haven't tried doing a bond-of-bonds config though. I think the trick
is to use the MASTER= and SLAVE= settings in the ifcfg-* files to make
it all come up properly. But that may not extend to bond-of-bonds...

Dear List:
I am running RedHat Enterprise 5.7. The Server I am using has 4 ethernet
links (2 cables to each switch).
I am trying to use the bonding driver to create 2GB links to each
switch, and then on top of that create
a 3rd bonding interface that includes the other 2 bonds to do
active-passive, is this possible to do with
RedHat?
so Basically the setup consists of:
bond0 (mode=4 - lacp)
- eth0 1Gbps
- eth1 1Gbps
bond1 (mode=4 - lacp)
- eth2 1Gbps
- eth3 1Gbps
bond2
- bond0
- bond1
I am having major issues getting this setup working. Can anyone assist
me in this???
Thanks much.
