It appears you probably have it sorted out, but just in case I thought
I'd chime in. I recall Fedora 11 in particular and 12 both had issues
with connecting to the internet. I have F12 on an old laptop, and I had
to put my OpenDNS IP in Network Manager in order to get it working. 
On the tab for IPv4 you select Automatic (DHCP Addresses only) and
enter the primary DNS server address in the appropriate spot.
