I am informed that concerned journalists are questioning some contradictory articles being reported by the Associated Press. An AP article printed on page A1 of today's Fresno Bee begins with the lead "Buoyed by a clear-cut election victory, President Bush ..." However, the AP stories coming out of Ohio (and Florida) are identifying serious election irregularities, which arguably may be sufficiently significant to establish that Kerry won in Ohio and therefore that Kerry actually won the electoral vote. The Associated Press is contradicting itself with editorial spin that turns on their collective ear the facts being uncovered by its reporters in the field. The people need to hold AP accountable. I understand you may express your feelings on this matter to the individual listed below. (The DC Bureau is the national AP headquarters for politics.) Please feel free to pass the word. An article posted yesterday (November 7) on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann website began as follows: "Here's an interesting little sidebar of our system of government confirmed recently by the crack Countdown research staff: no Presidential candidate's concession speech is legally binding. The only determinants of the outcome of election are the reports of the state returns boards and the vote of the Electoral College."
