There is no lack of conspiracy theories on the Internet. Some of them may be right or close to being right because with theories everyone fills in the gaps with whatever sounds good to them or supports their preconceptions. I find it very much a waste of time to keep defending the truth. There are enough facts around without resorting to suppositions and the kind of stuff that fuels bigotry, antisemitism, all kinds of hate (including hate for Muslims). The Jews will always be scapegoats because they're so visible. Even when they are not visible someone will make it seem like they are. Even when they're not Jewish they will be made to seem Jewish.
I am with you Scott. There was no assassination - at least nothing credible to point there and like you so aptly point out, if they wanted him dead, they could have done it a long time ago. If you want a conspiracy, once his wife got him in France, it is not implausible that she could have used some of his wealth to pay someone to end his suffering - or hers. And I don't think she is Jewish.. (g). No Zionist conspiracy there but expect the assassination conspiracy to take it's place with other conspiracies which will be promoted for some time to come.
