I was very interested in Chesler when she wrote her book and read all the
reviews. Then I noticed something about her shifting views. She has become
REACTIONARY. While we must recognize that antisemitism exists and is even
on the rise in some places, though other places Jews live better than they
ever have, of place of course being the United States.
While there are many who do bring up the old canards, it should not be
thought of as representative of everyone on the left. There are too many
left wing critics of Israel and commentators on the left who are
considered spokespeople for the left and informed to be bothered too much
by a small percentage of the left, the right, and everwhere in between,
who will always resort to bigotry as their justification for their hatred.
But Chesler is turning away from the left instead of reevaluating it and
trying to figure out why so many do have legitimate complaints about
Israel. For the most part is isn't antisemitism, it is the tool of
propagandists and the prejudice of fools.
