There was an article posted some times ago to pnews-l by Hank which I read
with interest but not with total agreement. I agreed about occupation
being wrong, actually an enslavement when done without total approval of
the people, and not to save them - which we could hardly do since the
national interest of the United States has NEVER been to save anyone.
But where I disagree the most is that there is an occupation of Palestine.
First of all, there is NO Palestine. To even refer to Arabs who live in
Israel's "SUBURBS", which is what the territories are and not occupied,
which implies it belongs to someone else.
Jews lived in those suburbs since the beginning of the common era. Jews
always lived there. G, you are wrong, they never turned tail. When you go
on vacation do you leave your home? If you are forced on vacation, do you
leave your home? Are you turning tail if you are expelled against your own
will? G, you display an obvious ignorance of the history of the region.
Donella, you are right about most things. I don't look at the way you
write or anyone writes here but what they say. Your shorthand way of
writing is unique to you and I enjoy reading the truth so I enjoy reading
what you have had to say.

Since no occupation can be benign there should not be an imposed presence.
That is true. Imposed is the key. Since the Jews lived there first, the
Arabs living in the territories are imposing their presence and they are
the occupiers and the world community should demand that they leave.
