Possibly the figure of 37,000 Iraqi civilians killed is inflated?  We
have no way of knowing for sure as we are pointedly not keeping track or
reporting the figures ourselves.  Some may remember our proud reports of
"body counts" in Viet Nam -- which were most likely guestimates there,
as we were dumping whatever wherever we could not claim direct military
control.  Bombing missions that had to be aborted because of bad weather
conditions were routinely ordered to drop their bombs in areas
designated as "free fire" zones -- where we had no idea who or what
lived below.  And so it goes again?  How many more yet to come?

Needless to say killing people does not win friends or spread a message
of a democracy that the world wishes to emulate. Ed Kent

invasion in March 2003 and October 2003.
