Of course, he and Barbara Lee & a few others (Obama & the late Paul
Wellstone) represent an essential part of how the DP carries out its
function. K's vote didn't make a damn bit of difference, except that it
is one of those little things that keep hope in nonsense forever alive.

One and only one Senator in my lifetime has made a difference: the late
Wayne Morse. And he didn't make a difference by his votes or other
pointless gestures. He made a difference by loudly and clearly enough
dissenting from the consensus that he gave heart and ammunition to those
of us who were fighting the Vietnam War. Kucinich has abjectly gone
along with the tide.

P.S. Consider the minimum wage. Everyone cites that as one of the
differences between "liberals" and "conservatives." Liberals support it.
Hah!

The minimum wage in _real_ terms (allowing for inflation) has been going
steadily down for around a quarter of a century. Every so often the DP
makes a big fuss about raising the _nominal_ rate, and it is increased,
but ALWAYS the increase is less than the inflatiobn since the last
increase. Therefore jerks like Wellstone and Obama (who wants to bomb
Iran) and Kucinich have done nothing but provide cover for the _real_
DP.
