I have updated the service broker queues and my fork / branch of rhino-esb for the above mentioned changes. I have also updated a unit test to demonstrate how it might be possible to avoid DTC promotion if using SQL Server 2008. I will start to run comparisons against each transport tomorrow. I have run one test so far with the service broker as follows 10,000 messages each with their own transaction. Send > Consume > Open Connection > Close Connection > Reply > Consume. My results varied between 1 min 7 sec and 1 min 15 sec and was never promoted to DTC.
