Matt, curious if you ever had a chance to spike anything? I have made some improvements to remove the duplicated logic and improved the tests on the servicelocator branch. I haven't pushed them public yet because I wanted to see if anybody was using that branch? I rebased off the latest master again and didn't want to cause any headache to anyone. If not I'll push the changes.
