Corey, At this point I have completed all the cleanup and other coding per the recommendations in both of your posts of Mar 26. The code still exists in two forks, as above, one for performance counters and one for adding the start method. I am waiting on your feedback on the start method code before I proceed.
The only thing left is to integrate the two branches, after which I will add a line to EnablePerformanceCounters() to throw an exception if the queue has already been started. Otherwise, barring any comments to the contrary from you or the community, I will be ready to submit a pull request.
