  rhythmbox sometimes during a directory scan stops when it encounters a
file that gstreamer doesnt like (i foolishly id3tagged a jpeg once :-)

  What you can do to find out which file causes the disruption: start
rhythmbox from a terminal with the --debug option. This will produce a
lot of output, so redirecting into a file might be a good thing. In this
output you'll find a lot of lines per scanned file, and the last file
mentioned will be the one you should take a closer look at.
