Hi, rhythmbox sometimes during a directory scan stops when it encounters a file that gstreamer doesnt like (i foolishly id3tagged a jpeg once :-)
What you can do to find out which file causes the disruption: start rhythmbox from a terminal with the --debug option. This will produce a lot of output, so redirecting into a file might be a good thing.
