Just dropping a line to say how useful I think these breakdowns are. I'd like to suggest that they may be posted outside of the list also. http://planet.gnome.org/news/ and http://www.gnome.org/projects/rhythmbox/news.html for example. That way the wider userbase can get excited by upcoming features.
