Does anyone know if any thought has been given to integrating the patch mentioned here?

I don't care, as long as there could be some method of doing it short of having to compile the app from scratch. Heck, right now I'd settle for editing a text file. A quick google of the list show several requests for any sort of functionality enabling adjusment of the default buffer size for streaming audio go back as far as 2003.
