I can certainly rename them, I wasn't sure if it was better to try to approximate the REST API or not. I'm happy to make that change and consider any other suggestions now before the API gets merged into master and we have to start considering backwards compatability. if_none_match and head seem like the ones that make less sense outside the concept of the REST API, I think if_[not]_modified is fairly clear.
