Thanks for the information.  It’s a lot of great stuff I wish I had a couple of 
days ago :-D  I’ve since created a new library here :  
https://github.com/xirdev/s3_xirsys

It currently adds user creation support.  However, I will probably add other 
features to this over time.  It’s mostly functionality that suits my needs 
rather than something wholly reusable, but if I end up adding a lot to it, I 
may make a proper module out of it.
