Opera 9.5 doesn't work with RichFaces

Opera cannot show demosite page, it loads complete page source, but view stays
empty.
The issue is caused by this code line in AJAX script:
var importednode ;
importednode =
window.document.importNode(_script, true);
document.documentElement.replaceChild(importednode,_span); <----
Stops here
Replacing document.documentElement with document.body make it work
