It would be awesome if it was possible to load the subTable content via ajax.
FYI:
Client side workaround for this is not that difficult using jQuery.
To show hide all subTable rows one can show/hide everything with the CSS class
".rich-subtable-firstrow".
To show hide individual subTables one can figure out the id of the subTable
"<table>" and then show/hide all "<td>" elements in that table (or parents of
those td's).
