Solved it! The problem was that I was already setting the sortOrder values in
in the map, example using your code below, sort of:

private Map<String, Object> sortOrder = new HashMap<String, Object>();
...
for(...) {
sortOrder.put(columnName, Ordering.UNSORTED);
}

Now I see that object for storing sortOrder which is used by the columns tag is
needed, container sort of.
