select: default label not always disappears

focus the select input field (with enabled manual input)
list popped up - ok
press ESC
list closed, there is no default label because input still focused - ok
press down
list poped up - ok
click ESC
list closed but now default label added - fail.
if return open/close list - it will not disappears anymore.
