Just got back from Branson with Peggy. We had a wonderful 5 days. The Christmas
shows started on Nov 1.

Went to the time share to buy discounted tix. First show was supposed to be to
see the Platters. When we got there, the usher discovered there had been a
mixup and the ticket was dated for next week. Without asking, or making a fuss,
they gave us a higher priced seat to see the Beatles program which was
playing---try that in the city---and then during intermission, I was able to
buy 2 tix for the Platters for the next day at half price!

We bought the video---with Peggy and I dancing in the aisles, literally. Oh,
yeah, Peg got a red rose from one of the Platters. And I bought the video to
prove it.

We wish they had a video of the Bretts Family Show. The 27-year-old star dancer
came down into the audience, sat on yours-truly knee, and sang a love song. Oh
Brianna, I'll never wash my right knee again.

We also saw 50's at the Hop for the 3rd time in 5 years. This year we saw their
Christmas show.

Saw Mickey Gilley, SIX and the Duttons, all for the first time. SIX was
amazing. They are 6 bros singing without instrument accompanyment, but you
wouldn't know it if they didn't tell you. They play their support music
vocally. You could here the drums as if they were real.

Last week the theaters were empty. Same for the Melody Inn where we stayed.
Only 25 - 33% filled, but by Sunday busses of retirees were coming to town. The
motel we were at went for 25% filled to 66% in one day.

I counted 11 busses in Gilleys parking lot. After front row seats at the
Platters and Bretts, and nothing beyond the 8th row in the others, we ended up
at Gilleys in Row 23 of 24! Damn seniors.

Next week is Veterans week in Branson. Hmmm.

PS. Wonder who won the election? Anybody know?
