Breaking: In a sealed court plea agreement, Gov Rod Blagojevich of Illinois has
agreed to pay a $1,000 fine and serve 4 more years community service in the
Governors mansion. His first official act after the settlement was to fill the
Senate seat left vacant by president-elect Barack Obama. Gov Blagojevich said
“the good people of this state deserve to be fully represented in the US Senate
and was proud of his decision to make Prosececutor Patrick Fitzgerald the
Junior Senator from Illinois.
What’s wrong with this pic?
The Bank of America is the biggest bank in the nation, if for no other reason,
they don’t loan money to people they don’t think can pay it back. (Sen Dodd,
D-Conn, Rep Barney Frank, Faggot-Mass, take note.) Treasury Secty Paulson
insisted on giving bail out money to B of A they didn’t ask for with the
assurance that the taxpayers, you and I, would be paid back with interest.
A unionized Chgo factory closed when B of A determined the owners were no
longer credit worthy. (No report on how much B of A is owed on past loans.)
Strangely, the employees refused to leave demanding they be paid for vacations
not taken & even severance pay. These are problems our system of govt resolves
in Federal Bankruptcy Court, in accordance with the laws written by Congress.
Re-enter Congress. Now Congress is “demanding” the B of A make the loan to the
unworthy creditor (like they infamously designed Fannie Mae fedl mortgages that
triggered the meltdown) to assure the union members get theirs before the
constitutionally created bankrputcy court applies the laws passed by congress.
Editor note: I suspect, under current law they would be first in line for
wages earned, but near the bottom for severance pay.

tactics employed by our elected officials.

Remember Rezko, the crook who arranged a the sweetheart deal for Obama to get

Long time readers may remember the story about Tony Seravo. He was the sole
survivor of his Company at the Battle of Bulge by playing dead while Nazis were
bayoneting bodies. When he got back to the US he got some money from the govt
and he wanted to open a tavern in Chgo, but had liquor experience. My dad had a
little money and chipped in and they opened up a tavern named Tony & E’s. (Mom
was E.) Mom had the experience Tony needed. Tony opened at 6AM, she closed at
2AM. I tell you this to assure you what I say next is credible.
But before they served their first drink, they had a lot of preliminary work to
do. They had legal papers, state sales tax forms and city permits to fill out
and pay. A bank account was established, vendors lined up, beer & liquor
inventory purchased, and a juke box from the “syndicate”. They were ready for
business---except for one thing. They hadn’t recd the police permit that was
supposed to be hand-delivered by one of Chgo's finest. Mom told him what to do,
but Tony balked. He balked for a week. I suppose it violated his war hero
ethics. The 2nd week, he got tired of waiting and tried it her way. He took two
fresh $20 bills, folded them up and tucked them in a book of matches. He then
went to the Shakespere Police Station, asked to see the Captain, and asked him
if he needed a light.
They were open for business the next day.
And then there was the juke box. A serviceman showed up weekly to service the
machine, update the music, and give Tony his share of the revenue. It was a
great deal. No investment, no upkeep, a roll of quarters with a stripe of red
finger nail polish to be used to play music. And then, get paid for it!
Win-win.
The dirty little secret was, the syndicate did more than supply juke boxes and
blow up places that refused their service. They had money brought in by number
runners, bookies, etc, which would then be deposited in a federally insured
bank along with the juke box money. Laundered.
There’s an old saying, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Did you hear the audio clip of Obama saying "we didn't have any contact with
Gov Blagojevich"---and then quickly correct himself saying "I didn't have..."
Hmmm? Sounds like the 3rd term for the Clinton Admin to me.
REMEMBER WHEN...
… there were ways to enforce the constitution? Today judges have ruled that it
is unconstitutional to ask possible illegal aliens to provide proof they are in
the country legally---or are eligible to run for president.
