Here's the full text of a message I sent to Barack Obama via the White House Web site:
Dear President Obama, During your presidential campaign you promised a "tax cut for 95% of working Americans." I'm a working American, and I would like to see a tax cut, since between federal, state, and local taxes 30-50% of my income is totally unavailable to me - a serious problem just now, and a non-trivial problem at any time. I would like to know 1) why you have not, since your inauguration, said or done anything whatsoever to redeem this promise which you made to me, and to other Americans who work very hard just to stay afloat, and 2) when I may expect to see my federal taxes drop by even one penny a year. I don't expect any action on this, but since we deserve a tax cut, because we have earned our money and therefore have a right to keep it and determine how we'll use it, I urge y'all to send the same sort of message to Barry. He won't keep his promise, but reminding him of it may at least keep him irritated enough that he's unable to do quite as much damage as he wants to.
