Now that the crisis is over, I do have a few observations. The protests were sprung on US with no inkling of advance notice. For things to be so bad it had o be building up for a long time. First thing I saw was a street full of protestors that did not look unlike a TEA Party rally. Later it turned violent. The first thing I heard was the protestors were living on $2/day. They sure looked better dressed than that. We aren’t being told the whole truth because if true, they’d be skinny people dressed in rags. Many of the protest signs were both professional and written in English, hmm. The swift condemnation of an ally govt, and a favorite tourist destination for many, seems to be contradictory. If it were as bad as the former MSM was saying, why did they stay mum so long? And why did Travel agencies not strike it off their places to visit. The various announcements by the POTUS which at first seemed like a man taking credit for something that the best we knew, knew about as much as we. Secty of State Clinton had praised the Egyptian govt just weeks before the POTUS announcement. A universal consensus, instantly formed, that Mubarak is an evil multi-billionaire. Armies seem to be better than the reputation the mass media has given them. In Honduras they peacefully escorted their ousted dictator out of the country. In Egypt , they are being touted as the most trusted division in Egypt . The POTUS has at the very least, empathy with the Muslim Brotherhood.
