TX Lone Star Tea Party The school boards and teachers unions want raid the Rainy day fund Lone Star Tea Party A Division of Arlington Tea Party Inc A message to all members of Lone Star Tea Party We have just learned at the school board meeting in Arlington Last night teachers are planning a sick out next Thursday. This would also include teachers descending on Austin and our state legislators. The school boards and teachers unions want the Governor and the State legislator to raid the Rainy day fund 9.3 billion. This question needs to be asked, what happens after the school boards and unions have pissed away 830 million in teachers aid they are asking for.. Get ready for what they call a TRE (it’s not a train) election (Tax Ratification Election) which will increase property taxes for us all. The vote on this comes to Arlington soon and possibly hundreds of districts across the state. In the past and while we were asleep they have used the legislature to protect themselves. We will find they are way ahead of us. See tax ratification below for more info. Educators, like our president (BO) have failed to get the message. “We are broke” “we are 14 trillion in debt”. The endless piling on is incredible. Collapsing the system is not going to save them. Union leaders are a selfish breed they will collapse companies, they will collapse countries to have their way and like always it’s the rank and file members that suffer the consequences of their actions in the end. Every union has a small group of people who will walk off the cliff and follow orders, any order! If you’ll take a close look at the videos coming out of Wisconsin you see the loudest group is the teamsters and other union thugs that have been trucked in to whip them into a frenzy, offer support and instruction. For the most part educators in the building are just standing around looking like teachers. You need to get ready for this because it’s coming to Texas. Pass the word to friends and family. This is the tail wagging the dog. Tax payers who foot the bills of this country outnumber them. We cannot let them hold us hostage to union thugery. Below (in red) is a email being passed around from Houston for a Statewide Rally planned for Austin Their website http://savetxschools.org/ Statewide March & Rally Austin, TX Saturday, March 12 March: 11:00 a.m. starting at 12th & Trinity Rally: Noon-2:00 p.m. at State Capitol Bldg, 11th & Congress Texans Together will provide a chartered bus ride for a limited number of people from Houston to Austin for the March 12th rally. In communities across the state, the same grim headlines repeat: campus closures, teacher layoffs, deep cuts to core academic programs. There is help for Texas students - IF our leaders have the courage to use it - and you can make a difference. On Saturday, March 12th, join thousands of Texans for a march and rally at the State Capitol to send a clear message to our leaders: * Make education a top priority! * Use the $9.3 billion Texas "Rainy Day" Fund to support schools. * Sign the paperwork for $830 Million in federal aid for teachers. * Fix school funding laws to be fair to all districts and to our growing student population. Plan now to be part of this historic event! Talk to your family, friends, students, co-workers, teachers, neighbors, business leaders, members of your faith community and more. Ask them to join you in Austin on March 12th to show our leaders what matters to Texas. Texans Together needs volunteers to help with calling parents and families in the Houston area to share with them the details of this rally. It is important to share with them information about the budget cuts public schools face. If you would like to help make phone calls or hand out flyers in your community please sign up on our volunteer form. Together, we can make a difference. Please stand up for Texas schools on March 12th at the State Capitol.
