Remember the good old days when the USSR was our nation’s biggest concern. Before a USSR citizen was allowed to move to another country, he/she had to re-imburse the state for the public educational costs they recd as citizens. We thought that was terrible. The former MSM was constantly reminding US that USSR citizens were not free. If a Russian wanted to come move to the US , he should be allowed to pick up his belongings and come on over. Well, today we have an interesting comparison. If a US citizen wishes to surrender his citizenship and move to another country, he is taxed one-half of his wealth. Not taxed on income, but must pay half of everything he/she owns to the IRS. Hmmm. Why doesn't the current LSM ever remind US citizens we are not free.
