Howdy all, a few Interesting Items for your information. Enjoy –

In this issue:

1.  Cops
2.  Problems
3.  TSA
4.  Navy

1.  Cops.  In a stunning opinion last week the Indiana Supreme Court overturned
over 600 years of British Common Law, over 220 years of the US Constitution
(specifically the Fourth Amendment) by ruling that a homeowner could not
legally resist police illegally and without a warrant entering his home.  The
case was a moderately ugly domestic disturbance in which the police entered the
home without being invited and without asking.  The homeowner shoved one of the
cops against the wall and was convicted of assault and battery of a police
officer legally doing his duty.  The homeowner appealed on the grounds that the
cops were not legally doing their sworn duty, as they had no probably cause nor
a warrant nor permission to enter the home.  The Indiana Supremes disagreed and
tossed out centuries of legal precedent and constitutional protection.  It was
a 3-2 decision.  Expect legislation to seriously slap down this outrageous
court decision in short
order.  There is a presidential component to this, as Indiana Governor Mitch
Daniels vetoed legislation to reform the way judicial appointments are made in
Indiana in 2009.  Indiana, like Alaska has a system in place that allows a
panel with a majority of lawyers to offer up a list of nominees for state
courts to the governor to select from.  If a name is not on that list, the
governor cannot appoint that person.  Here in Alaska former Governor Frank
Murkowski had epic battles with the leftist dominated Judicial Council which
got in the habit of only turning in 3-2 highly leftist names for each court
opening.  Former Governor Sarah Palin refused to join that fight, making some
of us wonder about her commitment to take on the leftists in the legal
community.  The legislation Daniels vetoed in 2009 was in reaction to an
outrageous decision by the Iowa Supreme Court legalizing gay marriage in Iowa.
That decision led to recall of three Supreme Court
justices in Iowa and triggered legislation in other states.  The swing vote in
this outrageous decision was a hard leftist nominated by Daniels to the Indiana
Supreme Court in 2010.  Daniels owns this decision and his supporters ought to
seriously consider his willingness and ability to take on the federal judiciary
and the legal profession should he be elected president.  He was clearly not up
to the task in Indiana.  There is no reason to believe he will be up to the
task in the WH either.  More on this from:

2.  Problems.  As long as we are on the subject of problems with Republican
candidates for President, Robert Tracinski wrote Friday the first of a two-part
series on Republican presidential candidates entitled Disqualified.  His
initial list includes Mitt Romney, who brought single payer health care to MA
while governor.  This will not allow Romney to use the single largest weapon we
have against Obama – which is the repeal of ObamaCare.  The WH is already
running around thanking Romney for providing the model for ObamaCare and having
a great time doing it.  For his part, Romney gave a speech last week defending
RomneyCare in MA as a Great Day for Mankind, even though it completely blew up
private health care statewide.  Next up on the disqualified list is Newt
Gingrich, whom Tracinski goes after for signing up for the manmade global
warming bandwagon.  Gingrich also has a couple moderately ugly divorces that
will be gleefully described in all
their gory detail by democrats in the media and the courts not unlike the
hatchet job they did in 2004 to Republican nominee for US Senate in IL Jack
Ryan who initially ran against Obama but dropped out after the divorce records
were unsealed and published.  Next up is Donald Trump, who has backed any
number of democrats for election and spoke highly of single payer health care
in the past.  The final shot was taken at Tim Pawlenty, who while governor of
MN signed on, lock stock and barrel to the manmade global warming / renewable
energy / green jobs scam.  And he did it for years.  He has since admitted his
mistake and begged forgiveness, but it does lead one to wonder what sorts of
legislation he would have signed at federal level and what appointments he
would make and Executive Orders he would have signed that would implemented the
goals of that scam.  As we are finding with ethanol, CFLs, low flow toilets,
CAFÉ standards, and the like, the
damage is very easy inflict on the nation at the stroke of a pen but very
difficult to undo afterwards.  In addition to the candidates listed, I would
also note that conservative darling Herman Cain has been taking heat from the
Paulians for being a former Director of the Federal Reserve in Kansas City from
1992 – 1995.  Cain does not believe that the Fed need to be audited, giving
some of us who are watching the Fed destroy the value of the dollar and crank
up inflation via “quantitative easing” as they print money for the purposes of
keeping the overspending democrat administration of Barack Obama and the Pelosi
– Reid congresses afloat.  The Fed is part of the problem.  It is disappointing
that Cain does not want to be part of that solution.  I will leave my problems
with Palin for another day.  I fear that every nominee we consider this next
year will have problems – some larger and some smaller.  It will be up to us to
fully vet
them; make sure they are up to the task at hand; and make sure that the
democrats and the media do not select our nominee like they did in 1996 and
2008.

3.  TSA.  The sexual deviants infesting the TSA has another sterling week last
week after photos of them groping the diaper of a six month old hit the web.
They did all the usual clucking, pontificating, and justification of this
outrage while the rest of the nation shook its collective head in shame.  Of
course they allowed yet another Muslim traveling on a Yemini passport on a one
way trip without baggage to board American Airlines Flight 1561 a week ago.
The Islamist rushed the cockpit door and beat upon it while screaming Allah
Akbar at the top of his lungs until subdued by flight crew and passengers.
Perhaps it is time for the vermin infesting the TSA to change their focus from
groping Americans to profiling and stopping Muslim men who come the Middle East
to kill us.  When they do, these little episodes in passenger inflight
participation in flight safety will happen far less frequently than they
currently are.

4.  Navy.  The social engineers currently in charge of the Navy are working
very hard in their attempt to destroy it as a credible fighting force.  The
latest round was an attempt to force Naval Chaplains to perform same sex
marriages on military installations.  This would have been a twofer, as it
would have chased Christians out of the Chaplains service, and it would have
demeaned, disgraced, and undermined Christianity within the Navy.  The
proponents were quite pleased with themselves.  Unfortunately, the Defense of
Marriage Act is still in effect, regardless of Holder and Obama’s decision not
to defend it in federal court, and by law the Navy cannot do this.  Members of
congress got involved and the social engineers in the Navy immediately backed
off.  It is only a matter of time before they force this on Chaplains of other
services.  In a related story, the Air Force Academy dedicated an outdoor
shrine for Wiccians, Druids and other
“earth-centered” religions.  No word yet on whether the sacrifices will be
animal or human.  Ain’t PC wonderful?

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better
than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not
your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your
chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our
countrymen."
- Samuel Adams, speech at the Philadelphia
  State House, August 1, 1776.
