Lou & I have been AARP members for several years.  That membership has saved us
hundreds of dollars in hotel reservation costs.  HOWEVER, in November, 2009, we
switched to AMAC (Association of Mature American Citizens).  While AMAC is
certainly no libertarian, freedom-oriented outfit, they're at least attempting
to help oldpharts survive in this crazy society.

AARP has, like most organizations, switched from serving the members to serving
and perpetuating the organization.  It's gotten too big, too corrupt and is way
off track.

We joined AMAC at www.AMAC.us.  If you have oldphart friends who may be
interested, they can probably join there, too ($13/year).

good for you!

Some people use the AARP postage-paid envelopes to send junk mail back to AARP.
AARP then has to pay the postage and the U.S.Postal service gets the $$
benefit.
