Howdy all, a few Interesting Items for your information. Enjoy –

In this issue:

1.  Correction
2.  Cancel
3.  EPA Science
4.  Ford
5.  Rant
6.  Creditors
7.  DOJ

1.  Correction.  Last week, I blasted away at the Alaska Courts for finding
that same sex couples must get the same exemptions as married veterans for
property taxes.  I ended the piece with an observation that someone would have
to do something about the Alaska Judiciary.  I received a phone call last week
pointing out that the presiding judge in this case was one of the most
conservative sitting on the Alaska Bench.  The obvious implication is that this
judge was not making it up as he goes.  The caller suggested that the problem
was in the Alaska Constitution itself, specifically the very strong equal
protection provisions.  Looked at the document last week and found Article 1,
Section 1, Inherent Rights and Article 1, Section 3, Civil Rights, either of
which could have been construed as a foundation for his opinion.  I am not
convinced that I have found the correct portions of the state constitution on
this one yet.  The lesson here is to be
very careful what you put into constitutions or allow to be put into
constitutions, for the leftists will use it to literally destroy everything you
hold dear.  Will post more on this as I come across it.

2.  Cancel.  Governor Bev Perdue (D, NC) made a speech to a local Rotary Club
last week in which she suggested that national politics today were so screwed
up that perhaps we ought to cancel elections next year for congress so that the
current infestation in Washington DC could be allowed another couple years to
sort things out.  Earlier, Obama’s former Budget Director Peter Orszag
suggested that the US ought to be less democratic so that the institutions
(read this as the leftist infested bureaucracy) could fix what is now broken.
Perdue’s office responded to the outcry with the excuse that the suggestion was
a “joke.”  Yet if you listen to the video, it most certainly is not.  The
totalitarian impulse runs very strong among leftists and their elected
representatives in the democrat party.  They know that they are about to get
destroyed by the electorate in the upcoming elections.  What better way to
retain that political power than to
simply wave off elections?  For the record, this nation has never canceled
national elections.  Not during the War of 1812 when Washington DC itself was
sacked and burned by the British.  They were not cancelled during the height of
the Civil War, where the elections of 1862 and 1864 went as scheduled.
Elections were never cancelled during the Great Depression or WWII.  Perdue’s
suggestion was a trial balloon from the left, whom she most certainly
represents.  The level of blowback will determine whether or not the Obamaoids
try this particular technique.  For if they do, they will justify everything
the Black Helicopter guys have been saying and justify what many Americans have
been buying weapons and ammunition since the fall of 2008 for.  Perhaps the
solution to the “by any means necessary” technique of the left will be a
reemergence of Vigilance Committees.  If so you on the left be very careful
what you wish for.

3.  EPA Science.  Senator Jim Inhofe (R, OK) last April asked the EPA’s
Inspector General to look into whether or not the EPA has followed its own
internal procedures when it created its finding that carbon dioxide was
pollutant.  The EPA IG reported to congress last week that the EPA had ignored
its own procedures and processes in arriving at their conclusions.  The report
that the EPA had simply made it up as they published the endangerment finding
against carbon dioxide brings us back to long time EPA employee (35 years) Alan
Carlin, who ran the EPA’s National Center for Environmental Economics,
published 98-page critique of the endangerment finding in 2009.  Carlin was
immediately cashiered from the agency for committing Truth in public.  You can
read WattsUp With That discussion of Carlin and his critique here:
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/09/30/congratulations-to-alan-carlin-on-vindication/#more-48488
The EPA has clearly committed a
massive fraud upon the public with their finding that carbon dioxide is a
pollutant.  And they are busily making rules and regulations based upon that
finding.  The courts hands are tied in this in that they are charged with using
the best available science for their decision.  When the EPA simply makes it up
as it goes, there is no science, there is no data, and there is most certainly
no opposing point of view.  So the garbage science of the EPA rules the day in
the courts.  Time to shut this agency down, for it has gone rogue, and is more
interested in destroying both the environment and jobs than doing what it has
been constitutionally been charged with doing.

4.  Ford.  The Ford Motor Company ran an ad the last few weeks with a mock
interview of a customer, with the media asking the customer why he purchased a
Ford.  This particular ad had a customer giving the reason he purchased a Ford
was because bailouts weren’t what American is all about.  The ad was pretty
powerful and worked well for Ford.  This did not sit well with the WH, who made
the prototypical gangster phone call to Ford, essentially doing the “Nice
little company you got here. Would be a shame if something happened to it.”
routine.  Ford, sensing their impending doom, pulled the ad.  Fortunately, it
lives on in You Tube via copies pulled and saved on thousands of hard drives
nationwide.  You can find the ad if you look for it today.  But if you can’t,
the story is out there and every single auto buyer will remember this sort of
thuggish behavior out of the Obama WH.  This will not go well for either
Government Motors or
 Chrysler.

5.  Rant.  Obama appointee Elizabeth Warren, who was appointed to the new
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and never confirmed, announced she would
be running for US Senate against Scott Brown in MA.  Warren was never confirmed
by the veto-proof democrat majority in the senate due to her Marxist worldview
and ended up as one of Obama’s Czars putting the new agency together before she
went back to Harvard law School.  Last week someone made a video of her
speaking before a small group, making the case that if you benefit in any way
from government action, you no longer have control of your property, your hard
work, or the fruits of your labor.  For in Warren ’s Marxist worldview if
government action in any way touches your business, then the government is
immediately and completely in charge, as you didn’t earn everything you have
made in your business.  This is one of the most toxic, anti-property rights
worldviews I have ever seen, yet
she is completely proud of it and plans on using it as the centerpiece of her
campaign in MA for US Senate next year – which ought to worry all of us about
what is going on at the Harvard Law School .  And she plans on riding this to
an election victory over Scott Brown.

6. Creditors.  As the Solyndra scandal continues to effervesce, the list of
creditors for the fiscal fraud that is Solyndra was released.  Among the
creditors is the California Democratic Party.  To date, we do not know to what
extent this political entity is connected to Solyndra.  However, it is clear
that Obama administration funding to renewable energy companies, particularly
wind and solar, are yet another vehicle to funnel taxpayer dollars back into
democrat campaign coffers so as to elect more democrats to office.  Democrats
have managed to corrupt everything they lay their hands upon.  And they have
corrupted the notion of renewable energy – which is not a bad thing for those
of us who are interested in clean, reliable, cheap energy in large quantities.

7. DOJ.  Eric Holder’s (In)Justice Department has been very active in covering
up various Obama scandals.  It turns out that they have one of their own that
is not Fast and Furious.  It appears that every single one of their new hires
has been chosen based on their ability to further the leftist ideology Obama
and Holder are trying to implement here in the US .  Hiring then into career
civil service positions is a way to bury them in the bureaucracy and allow them
to carry on their dirty work after Obama and Holder are gone.  They are also
offering early retirement inducements for senior civil service employees so as
to allow the new leftist hires to infest the entire structure of the
department.  (In)Justice is not the only Department with this problem, as the
EPA (Clean Air and Clean Water Acts) and US Fish and Wildlife Service
(Endangered Species Act) also suffer the same infestation.  The problem for the
next administration is how to get rid
of these people and do it legally.  There are two ways the immediately come to
mind.  The first is simply to cut budgets and in turn positions back to
pre-Obama levels.  Civil Service is normally last in, first fired, with
retention driven by seniority.  This will work for some of the new hires.  The
second technique is to reorganize the department in question and along with it
rewrite position descriptions.  The reorganization was last used to neuter the
CIA after it had conducted a years-long assault on the Bush – Cheney war
effort.  It will work against the Obamaoids

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better
than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not
your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your
chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our
countrymen."
- Samuel Adams, speech at the Philadelphia
  State House, August 1, 1776.
