In 1947, Associate Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black amended the 1st Amendment
to replace "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"  with “separation of church and
State”.  The original first amendment that prevented the govt from establishing
a religeon was twisted to mean there was a "wall" between the 2 placing
restrictions on religion.

In effect, what was a one-edged sword to protect religeon from the govt, became
a double-edged sword allowing the govt to place restrictions on the 1st
amendment.

In Black's misinterpretation, the govt can restrict prayers at football games,
in public schools and a manger in the town square.  Isn't that prohibiting the
free exercise of religion, and in direct violation of the original words of the
First?

The Republican Establishment are concerned that conservatives, i.e. the TEA
Party, will not support them or the RINOs come Nov. They argue that any of them
would be better than their Democrat opponent.

Too bad they didn't think of that when they withheld support for Sharron Angle,
Joe Miller, Christine O'Donnell, Meg Whitman and Carlie Fiorina.

The GOP could've had a majority in the Senate at the very least.
