Devvy – Contraception Should Not Be Covered etc Texans: Deadline looming/'smart' meter comments/Texas PUC
News Items you might have missed Texans: Deadline looming/'smart' meter comments/Texas PUC March 21, 2012 From: Devvy's Email Alerts<[email protected]> Date: March 21, 2012 Subject: Texans: Deadline looming/'smart' meter comments/Texas PUC Links are generally posted at my web site http://devvy.net/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi/r/alerts/800750226275/ March 21, 2012 The deadline for submitting comments to the Texas PUC regarding our petition is March 30, 2012. The PUC must have them by the end of that business day. There was some confusion earlier regarding the Docket Number assigned our petition when Tommy and I filed in Austin and then the Project Number issued. Additionally, I did not know an individual submitting comments had to submit 16 copies of their letter. I had to re-send mine as I didn't fulfill the requirement of a total of 16. When I re-sent mine, I used the Docket No. 40199 and the Project No. 40190 at the top of the page just to make sure it gets put in the pile for our petition. Tommy was told by the PUC attorney to use the Project No. 40190. If you used the Docket number, it will likely be put into the pile since as far as I know, our petition is the only one of its kind. Many folks emailed and wanted to know what to put in their comments. I focused briefly on the health issues and then privacy. I made it only one page because John and I are the lead names on the petition so they already know who I am. This is just a little friendly reminder. I know the word has been getting out because people outside our state have sent me email saying the called their brother or cousin or someone they do business with here in Texas so they can submit a letter. This is the exact text from the Texas Register: "Comments shall be submitted to the Filing Clerk, Public Utility Commission of Texas, 1701 North Congress Avenue, P.O. Box 13326 , Austin , Texas 78711-3326 . Sixteen copies of comments are required to be filed pursuant to §22.71(c)." I used the PO box and sent it certified mail. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard on this. No word yet from the PUC, but many of us know the commissioners are apparently working on some sort of opt out which isn't an option regarding known health risks. Tommy has not been able to connect with their lawyer the past couple of days because he's been ill. One of the hardest working people I've ever known and we all wish him a speedy recovery. -- "Always remember and never forget. Competition is the catalyst that allows capitalism to work?"
