II tell you this merely to support my credibility to what I am about to tell you, but before I do, let me assure you despite one "set back", all went well and my recovery has been much faster than I thought possible.
Part of a successful operation is "rehab." I was transported to a rehab center upon my discharge. There were 2 more programs to complete my recovery. All was well and I got home and then we moved to Ft Worth. I called my GP (Humana Advantage insurance). She was nowhere to be found. So I had to find a new GP in order to get enrolled for the second part of my rehab. That's when the sh!t hit the fan. Once I found a rehab that accepted the Advantage plan, I had to ask my new GP to refer me to the rehab. Anyway, just when I thought all was well, I got a call from Humana telling me Medicare had a new rule. It was so new the providers didn't know about it. Medicare put a 30-day deadline to sign up for rehab, meaning I should have signed up back on Feb 11! It's sorta like when the "new" Govt Motors didn't honor the "old" General Motors auto-warranties.
