I sent a previous email but it looks like it may not have been sent.

Just wanted folks to go to www.lonestarteaparty.us in order to get on board the
Arlington Tea Party Planning group. I am not sure what all is planned but we
want to do a better job in getting the word out to our friends in Arlington to
let everyone know we have a voice and our vote counts too in light of the
recent elections!

This last election on Saturday I was so sadden by the fact that voters told the
City Council that residents want mass transit, sustained development, and a new
bike path we can't afford. I know I did not do as good a job as I could have to
make that information available to our group!

I have a week off from school that I can actually meet with folks and possibly
our precinct chairs to talk about what Arlington is facing. We need to tackle
this city council and make sure all residents know what they are voting for and
who is voting for what policy. Please let me know if you have any time
available this week.

I worked against my precinct chair (2306) in order to remove Sheri Capehart
from office. She voted for this bike path and actually added a few new pieces
which drove the pricetag up! Her opponet is a true Reagan conservative and
teaches government classes at TCC.

I know everyone running for office is always asking for money. Thankfully I am
not but please be careful where you do send your precious funds! Make sure that
candidate will let you speak out unlike our mayor who refuses to hear the voice
of the residents.

It looks like the Arlington Police and Fire Fighters Associations were the
strong arm of the law this past Saturday. Their candidates made it through and
now we can thank them for the bike path (loss of personal property rights),
mass transit, and the largest sustainable development project in all of
Arlington (Viridian). While it does look promising on the outside there is much
that may not be good for our city in this project.

It is already a "done deal" as far as I know and now it looks like we will have
to live with it because the folks in favor of taking the property rights of the
people are back on the council for another term!

I am sickened by these people and this council for not even hearing us out when
we brought our grievences to them. While I do agree name calling should be left
for another day - - we should at least be able to speak our peace.

Please let me know if anyone is free this week and what days - - I'd like to
plan something for Wednesday evening around 7pm if there is enough interest!

Thanks to all who took the time to get out and vote! I know most of you are
early voters and I appreciate your time in getting to the polling places.

“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if
you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come
to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and
only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may
have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish
than to live as slaves.”
