After I did my column, The Hypocrisy of Republicans Over Oil Prices, where I
addressed the Keystone Pipeline, I received email from someone who supports
that pipeline and wrote the project shouldn't be stopped just because of a few
inconsequential Americans who didn't want to lose their land.

Isn't that just grand? Texans who have lived on their land all their lives and
generations before them. But, heck, they're "inconsequential". How low
Americans have sunk -- as long as the ox isn't goring their space and property.

That pipeline will create some jobs that won't last. But, people are so
desperate for work, they are willing to see their fellow Americans trampled
along with their right to their own property.  Proponents say it will lower gas
prices. Really?

Inside the Keystone pipeline: How much would it really help US consumers?

"Politicians paint a rosy picture of lower gas prices and abundant supply, but
Canadian firms behind the Keystone pipeline expect it to supply Gulf Coast
export markets and raise Midwest oil prices."

The real solution is never implemented:

The article below should be read by all who support that pipeline. It is not
good for Americans in the path of it. Those who don't think something like this
can happen to them, they should remember Klamath Falls and now this:

Join the Blockade of the Keystone Pipeline

“Keystone XL is being built as an export pipeline for Canada to sell its dirty
oil to foreign markets,” he said. “This is not about energy security; it’s
about securing TransCanada’s profits.” Weis cited a report commissioned by
Cornell University that concluded that the jobs estimates put forward by
TransCanada were unsubstantiated and that the project could actually destroy
more jobs than it created."

Gee, silly me. I thought only the Congress could write legislation and
all revenue bills had to originate in the House. Goes to show ya what I know.

Do you remember the VEEP going berserk screaming during the VP debate that even
if Iran gets the bomb, they haven’t got a vehicle to deliver it? I guess he
hasn’t heard about the President’s Muslim outreach program giving them free
rein at NASA.
