Inflation, Relocation Campaigns and No More Adventures on the internet with Shonda Ponder by Shonda M. Ponder Posted on 03.13.13 http://www.shondaponder.com/archives/2013mar/130313-shonda-inflationrelocationandnomore.html
This morning, I travelled down the Information Super Highway looking for news stops along the way, when I bumped into Allen West. I was reading a post from Allan West, who said that his favorite burger joint was entertaining the notion of raising their prices due to Obamacare; so, now we not only have people losing jobs, and people losing work hours, and people paying more for insurance, but we have inflation as well. This is to be expected, since people can't afford to buy burgers to begin with, which is why people are losing their businesses. My burger money is going towards just paying the cheaper fine at the end of the year. It looks as if the budget that was introduced yesterday by the Senate Republicans is under Democrat scrutiny already...again. Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan wrote that a budget is an "expression of governing philosophy." I kind of like that quote, so I thought I would share it today. I don't know what the budget looks like, but the Dems are saying that it places too much health care burden on Seniors. Defunding Obamacare is not "placing" anything more on the seniors than they already have from my view. Regardless, I haven't seen the Democrats offer anything on the budget, so why are they whining about it? Get right, or get left behind. That's my new favorite saying. Obama wants to take some of our Social Security income in order to fight the deficit. How can you cut someone's pay after they worked for years and payed into it and are really entitled to it, rather than cutting someone's government welfare checks when they paid nothing into it, but want the government to provide for them? It's time we start being more frugal on where our tax money is going. I don't consider Social Security a part of that deal, and it shouldn't be. When I retire, I should be awarded the security I paid for. Period. Therefore, Obama, leave my money alone! Besides, I don't like how you handle other people's money. I decided to stop in and visit the U.S. News. In yet another post about Rand Paul's filibuster, I wonder why Graham and McCain are even still in the Senate. There's an old addage that fits the bill here, "Get right, or get left behind." I don't think they scored any points by critizing Paul for his stand. Was reading this morning on facebook what A Grown Man's Thoughts had to say. He was advising everyone to have a strong work ethic because too many people want what they are not willing to work hard to obtain. He said "We are not entitled to success, we have to earn it." Does this mean all those who voted for Obama needs to "grow up"? Looking at Graham and McCain's reactions to Paul, I tend to think so. The way they are acting, you have to wonder if they voted for Obama. Rand Paul worked hard that day to defend our constitutional rights. Graham and McCain act like they want a free ride. I've come to like the South Carolina Congressman, Jeff Duncan. So, I turned right yet again on the Super Highway to see what he had to say. It seems that the Colorado Senate just passed an extensive anti-gun bill that manufacturer Magpul is not pleased with. Jeff Duncan has been busy contacting any gun manufacturers around the country who feel disenfranchised and has been inviting them to move to South Carolina, including those in New York. “Hopefully Colorado's loss will be South Carolina's gain,” said Duncan. “The Constitution is perfectly clear that the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. If states like Colorado want to violate the fundamental rights of their citizens, then I hope states like South Carolina will gladly welcome businesses in the firearms industry, and the jobs they provide to relocate to our communities. I hope Governor Haley will join me in encouraging this business and others in the firearms industry to bring their business and their jobs to South Carolina," says Duncan. Duncan's efforts have also been picked up by Governor Rick Perry in Texas. He, too, is encouraging the relocation of gun manufacturers to my state. I think it's great. Not only will we have access more to self-defense tools close by, but we will also have job growth and a better economy because of it. Their loss is our gain. Can't beat that! No word from the manufacturers in response yet, though. As I travelled on down the roads on the world wide web, I found a press release from the National Coalition of Domestic Violence. In the wake of the renewed Violence Against Women Act that was signed by the President last week, they have launched a new symbol (like the pink ribbon campaign for breast cancer awareness, etc.) called No More! I applaud their efforts to bring awareness to national domestic violence, having been a victim and seen the close-up effects of it. Today, March 13 is now known as "No More Day". Speaking of which, I think I'll take a break today, since it is my day off and post no more until tomorrow. I spent the better part of yesterday downloading some games and fixing my computer so the pages will load faster. Today, I am off work (I get 24 hours this week, woo hoo!) and I intend to enjoy myself.
