RR Update: Obama brushes off Congress on Russian helicopters for Afghan
military
I posted this story to the Internet few days ago
This is an update.
Obama brushes off Congress
on Russian helicopters
for Afghan military

When I read the
above story: US to buy Russian helicopters for
$690,000,000 I wondered how long have I
been sleeping. I wasn't sleeping. Why would we buy Russian helicopters
instead of USA made helicopters?
But it's worse than that; we are NOT buying the helicopters for US.
We are buying them for another country, Afghanistan
We are pulling our troops out of Afghanistan. We want the Afghan regime to
survive in their war after we leave, but we're $17 Tril in debt. This
will make it $17.69 in debt. Almost, $18T. And the Afghan govt really isn't a
good
friend of the USA. I read their choppers are cheaper, but I didn't read
there was any open bidding. Even if it is "cheaper", buying from Russia
will put $690M into their economy and not ours.
I have read that their helicopter is more suitable for the Afghan terrain
because it is less sophisticated. And
my personal ombudsman, my younger brother who is still lives in the
Chicago area, told me this: Afghan pilots have been trained in the
Russian helicopters would need to be retrained to fly a US helicopter.
Well, he said a lot more, but that was the
jist.
Does that make sense? We're pulling out of Afghanistan in a
year or 2. If they need helicopters, leave a couple hundred of ours
behind. That makes sense to me. Especially since odds are that the
chances of the survival of the Afghan govt with the Muslim Taliban is in
doubt. We or our allies may someday face these helicopters on the battlefield.
POTUS
is once again raidng theUS Treasury for dubious reasons.
He acts like
he's only interested in saving the Union.
That would be the SEIU/NEA/UAW & Soviet unions.
