1.  Vladimir Putin Trolls America
Vladimir Putin has decided to troll America with an op-ed in the New York Times.

He gets
the better of Barack Obama with much of his op-ed, including pointing
out that if our rule is we won’t touch countries with nukes it is just
going to incentivize countries getting nukes.

But he ends with . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

2.  Were a majority of VW’s American workers coerced and threatened into
signing UAW cards?
With its
future hinging on unionizing the American factories of foreign
automakers, the United Auto Workers has been desperately courting
Volkwagen’s 2700 employees Tennessee since 2011.

According
to news reports on Wednesday, a majority of Volkswagen AG’s employees in
Chattanooga have signed union authorization cards indicating the desire “to
join VW’s Global Works Council and supporting cooperative and
collaborative relations with the company.”
The UAW is claiming that the cards are as valid as the workers having voted in
an election.

The
question that is not being posed, however, is: Were the majority of VW’s
workers’ signatures gathered based threats, coercion and fear tactics? . . .

3.  Head Pats, Seal Claps, and Scalp Collection
A new CNN poll is out.

Strikingly, it shows that only 39% of Americans support all or most of
Obamacare,
which is drastically below the 51% mark the same polling found at the
beginning of the year. More and more Americans see themselves, their
family members, and friends losing jobs, losing benefits, and losing
security. But Republicans refuse to fight to defund the legislation.

We are
reduced again to Senator Mitch McConnell engaged in head pats for
conservatives designed to generate seal claps from activists. . . . please

4.  Where Have You Gone, Jimmy Carter
This isn’t so much a post as a lamentation.

Until this week I thought I had already lived through the nadir of US influence.

I was
commissioned into the Army under Jimmy Carter and experienced, first
hand, his feckless management of the US economy and foreign affairs.
Indeed, perhaps as an object lesson for future generations, there were
many similarities between Mr. Carter’s arrival in the White House and
Barack Obama’s. Both arrived as a result of national fatigue with their
predecessor. Both arrived with a burgeoning economic crisis on their
hands. Both grossly mismanaged the economy. Both promised change and
they gave it change to us good and hard and unlubricated.

There the similarities end. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

5.  Finger Lickin’ Frauds and Fence Sittin’ Scoundrels
One of Newton’s laws of motion states that “every object in a state of
uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an
external force is applied to it.” Conservatives would be wise to
internalize that law when observing the behavior of the Republican
Party.  They will not change on their own.  We need an external force to
supplant the current leadership of the party – a mixture of rudderless and
duplicitous characters.. . . please click here for the rest of the post →

6.  PPP totally nailed the recall of Angela Giron. Trust them.
According
to Public Policy Polling, their polling predicted the recall of Angela
Giron in Colorado Senate District 3. They then chose not to release the
results.

Whether we believe them or not, this doesn’t speak well of the firm. . . .
